Back home, in Thiruvananthapuram, India ‘A’ were dismissed for 121 by the England Lions on Wednesday.KL Rahul was bowled by Lewis Gregory for a golden duck, as his return to cricket after the Koffee with Karan controversy took another hit.Rahul’s opening partner, Himmat Singh, was dismissed for a paltry 3 runs as skipper Ankit Bawne was too sent back for a duck.Rishabh Pant, who was too was returning to cricket, after a rathr successful tour of Australia, was sent back for just 7 runs from 14 balls by Jamie Overton.If not for some resistance offered by Siddhesh Lad, India were staring down the barrel. It was also India’s second lowest total in ODIs against New Zealand, having somehow managed to surpass the 88 scored at Dambulla.Indian middle oder batsmen, Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik were dismissed by Colin de Grandhomme for ducks, as Rohit made 7, debutant Shubman Gill made 9 and Kedar Yadav scored 1.Only four Indian batsmen — Shikhar Dhawan (13), Hardik Pandya (16), Kuldeep Yadav (15) and Yuzvendra Chahal (18 not out) — posted double digit scores.While chasing, New Zealand completed the formalities in 14.4 overs with eight wickets in hand.
