Trey Anastasio Band Performs With Jeff Cressman At Colorado’s Vertex Festival

first_imgFans will most likely get to see more of this father-daughter trombone performance at Peach Festival, as Meghan Trainor is performing in Illinois on the same day. That is, unless someone else fills in for Casey at the festival – we’ll be sure to let you know when we have more information.Setlist: Trey Anastasio Band at Vertex Festival, Buena Vista, CO – 8/7/1601. Dazed and Confused The Trey Anastasio Band made their 2016 debut last night, performance at the inaugural Vertex Festival in Buena Vista, CO. Though the band released a new album, Paper Wheels, in 2015, the guitarist has spent most of this year working with Phish on their new studio effort and subsequent summer tour. As of now, TAB only has one other date on the schedule, which will come next week at The Peach Music Festival. With such a light touring schedule, it’s unfortunate that saxophonist James Casey was unable to attend the band’s performance at Vertex. While Casey is on tour with Meghan Trainor, the band called upon renowned trombonist Jeff Cressman to fill in for the performance. Cressman is the father of TAB’s own Natalie Cressman, and a renowned musician in the San Francisco Bay Area scene. He also performed as a member of TAB from 2006-2007, and sat in with the band as recently as April 19th, 2013 – when TAB visited The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. TAB also welcomed percussionist Cyro Batista into the fold, as the famed former member of the band returned to their lineup last night.Cressman was on the trombone last night with TAB, as you can see from the Instagram shots below. This marks the first full performance with both members of the Cressman family in the Trey Anastasio Band, and the first dual-trombone show as well.last_img read more
