It has been almost a year since Grand Theft Auto V launched on Xbox 360 $11.99 at Amazon and PS3 %displayPrice% at %seller%. It was the right decision by Rockstar to target two established platforms rather than wait a couple of months and be a launch game for PS4 and Xbox One. Then earlier this year Rockstar confirmed a release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC would happen before the end of the year. There’s many a gamer looking forward to playing the so-called next-gen GTA V over Christmas, but that may no longer happen. There is a rumor circulating that Rockstar is no longer going to deliver the game in time for a 2014 release as the video below explains. Some good points are made in the video, and you’d expect Rockstar to be kicking off its marketing machine right about now if the game was still launching before the holidays. But there’s been nothing new to talk about or look at since E3 in June. Recent news out of Rockstar has all been focused on GTA Online.Regardless of whether this rumor is true or not, Rockstar will have to say one way or the other within the next month or so. We’ll either see advertising and a final release date announced, or we’ll get a press release explaining that the development team needs more time to get the three versions of the game ready. Hopefully it’s just a case of the game not launching until mid-November and Rockstar is putting the final touches to its inevitable marketing blitz.
