iPhone 5S rumored to offer gold color photo of plastic back hints

first_imgThe iPhone 5 was released toward the end of last September, which means the phone has been available for around nine months now. This, of course, means Apple is preparing a new phone for people that are either on the S cycle, or like to upgrade phones in less than a year’s time. Now that we’re getting close to Apple’s traditional phone release, iPhone rumors are kicking into full gear. This week, we have a rumor that suggests the new iPhone 5S will be offered in a lavish (or garish!) gold color, while another rumor suggests that a cheaper, iPhone Lite is on the horizon. The above image came from a Chinese website that purports that the components seen above are for the upcoming iPhone 5S which suggests that Apple’s new phone will come in a gold color. The iPhone 5 and 4S are also represented above, and will come in a silver and copper color, rounding out the spectrum of Crayola crayons you hate using because they’re kind of sticky. If these colors prove accurate, then the iPhone 5S, 5, and 4S will be easily discerned by tier of color, as gold is obviously higher than silver, which is of course higher than copper.Another supposed leak from the very same Chinese site suggests that the plastic back pictured above could be from an upcoming cheaper version of the iPhone, perhaps the iPhone Lite or iPhone Mini the internet loves to discuss. The plastic, rounded back certainly makes the phone look cheaper than the usual flat back, but it’s more likely that the above picture represents some kind of case, rather than the back of an entirely new phone. You’ll notice toward the bottom of the phone there aren’t any of Apple’s markings — notably the “iPhone” text.Whether or not the new fancy colors or the plastic, decidedly not fancy iPhone will be releasing sometime this year currently remains to be seen, but WWDC is ready to go in just one week from now on June 10, so expect Apple to make some big announcements then.last_img read more
