You might have heard of nation branding but do not know what it actually means. You may even want to know more about it. In the spirit of Brand South Africa’s upcoming Nation Brand Forum, we present to you the answers to some frequently asked questions on nation branding. What is nation branding? It is about managing a country’s image, usually portraying it in a positive light. What makes up a nation brand? To create a positive image about a country, there are six things that a brand should cover. These are: business, tourism, exports, culture and heritage, governance and people.Who came up with the nation brand concept?British policy advisor, Simon Anholt had come up with the term and the practice of nation branding. He also created the Nation Brand Index, which was launched in 2005, as a way to measure a country’s reputation. How is nation branding different from product branding?Product branding is concerned with promoting a single or number of products or services, which can be very simple. But unlike the branding of a product, the branding of a nation covers many aspects that make up a country. When a foreign tourist thinks of South Africa, the images that immediately come to mind are of wildlife, Nelson Mandela, gold and diamonds. While those are great selling points of South Africa, we know that there is so much more that makes this country great, such as its beaches, its food and most of all, its friendly people.Who is responsible for branding South Africa? It might be easy to say that it is Brand South Africa’s job to create a good image of the country, but in reality it is up to every South African citizen to build that reputation. How can I create a positive image of South Africa?Start by being an active citizen, or in other words, by helping your community thrive. Start a movement, bring your ideas to life or, if you are a sportsperson, coach the children in your neighbourhood. You as a South African have the power to make this country great.
Good quality, wish the strips were a bit wider. I waited about 3 months to post this review to see how the hair held up. I’ve never used tape ins before but have tried pretty much every other method including micro rings, nano rings, glue in, clip in, glue bonds and so on, but i’ve never been happy with them as you can still see the bonds. My hair doesn’t seem to grow on the sides on my head passed my chin so i like to fill in the gaps. After watching many youtube videos i got the technique down and started applyingthe hair was a perfect match to my hair colour so that was nice. The ends were quite thick, didn’t taper much like some do but i cut them by a couple of inches anyway so it doesn’t matter. There isn’t much shedding at all with this hair, i was very pleasantly surprised. The hair is soft and comfortable to wear. I did notice some dark coarse hairs but not that many. The hair lasted really well, the bonds were strong and didn’t damage quickly. I wore it for about 6 weeks or more before taking it out. The hair was still soft but the ends had suffered slightly from heat styling, they knotted up a bit more than when i got them and didn’t stay soft and smooth but i trimmed them and they were ok again. I dyed my hair slightly darker blonde once i’d taken them out and did the extensions to match. The extensions dye really well, stayed in good condition. Back Row, L-R: Hadley Ramirez, Emily Hill, Amanda AnnettBy Abigail Paxton Utica FFA Reporter 2019-2020On September 25, some of the Utica FFA Chapter officers took a trip to the Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference or OLLC. The 5 officers that went were; Rachel Dickson(President), Emily Hill(Vice President), Amanda Annett(Treasurer), Hadley Ramirez-George(Secretary), and Abby Paxton(Reporter). The officers traveled to the Ohio State House for the Conference.Throughout the Conference, the officers learned and did several actives on leadership during the day. During the first session, the officers learned about lobbyist and representatives. They learned what they are, what they do, and how anyone can do it. Then, they did an activity on the two topics. All the FFA members that went were divided into 22 groups, 11 were lobbyist trying to get a certain chosen topic changed by law and the other 11 were representatives, half of the groups were republican and half were democratic. The lobbyist would go around to the representative groups and try and get the law changed on their topic. Based on the representatives view in the folder, the groups would answer on what they would do to the law. Either they would choose to change it or keep it the same. After all the groups went around they reflected on the pros and challenges of the activity. The activity taught everybody respect, leadership, and showed that anyone can have an option and try to change it. After the first session was dismissed, the officers had a chance to explore the State house before the luncheon. The explored the Senate Chambers and learned new facts about the building. During the luncheon, many people representatives of Ohio FFA and the Ohio Senate spoke. The team learned a lot from everything they did and had an amazing time!

For some, the absence of a camera is a deal breaker, while others bemoan that Apple still doesn’t allow multitasking on its iPhone OS and that Safari still doesn’t support Flash. Others, however, are excited about the iPad’s potential as an e-book reader and gaming device. Here at ReadWriteWeb, opinions are still mixed as well. Reactions among our writers range from advising people to wait for the iPad 2.0 to giddy excitement about the prospect of a better couch-surfing device.Tech Pundits: Mixed ReactionsAll of the tech pundits who attended the launch event and actually used the device for a few minutes were impressed by the iPad’s speed. John Gruber, who also wrote one of the most balanced evaluations of the iPad launch so far, went as far as to argue that Apple’s A4 processor is the iPad’s most revolutionary feature. Walt Mossberg is cautiously optimistic about the iPad’s potential. Mossberg says that the software “looked impressive,” but also notes that the virtual keyboard “may be a liability.” In the New York Times, David Pogue writes that just calling the iPad a big iPod touch doesn’t do it justice, and that the iPad “as an e-book reader is a no-brainer.” Pogue also cautions critics that it’s too early to draw any conclusions. Nobody, after all, has really used the device yet and we haven’t seen any iPad-only apps that really push the device to its limits.Stephen Fry puts the launch into a historical context and notes that quite a few pundits expected Apple’s iPhone to be a flop as well. MG Siegler, on the other hand, looks forward and says that holding the iPad is “like holding the future” (if you are already used to the iPod touch and iPhone).A Paradigm Shift?Nicholas Carr and Slate’s Farhad Manjoo take a slightly different angle. Both argue that the iPad will represent a paradigm shift in how we look at our computers. Manjoo lauds the iPad’s interface and ease of use and thinks that using the the iPhone represents a breakthrough in doing away with the old multi-window desktop metaphor. Carr writes that the success of the iPad is not a sure bet, but also argues that “whether it finds mainstream success or not, there’s no going back; we’ve entered a new era of computing, in which media and software have merged in the Internet cloud.”Indeed, just like the iPhone changed our expectations of what mobile phones should be able to do, the iPad might just change our expectations of how laptops should work and what they should look like. What do You Think? Let us Know! What do you think? Is the iPad just an oversized and overhyped iPod touch, or is there more to it? Is it a Kindle killer and an awesome gaming device that will replace your Kindle and iPod touch? Does it represent a paradigm shift in how we will look at our computers in the future? The Two Types of BatteriesEssentially, there are two types of batteries that a filmmaker will use: alkaline and lithium-ion. Alkaline batteries are your standard AA or AAA batteries. Usually, these batteries power your smaller accessories, like wireless microphones, boom mics, etc. Then, there are lithium-ion batteries. These are the bigger, block-style batteries that power your cameras. These batteries are much bigger and more cumbersome than alkaline batteries. Limitations on AlkalineImage via mariva2017.The TSA doesn’t restrict how many alkaline (or “dry”) batteries you can travel with. You can either check alkaline batteries, or you can carry them on. So, if you need AA, AAA, C, or D batteries on your next shoot, you can travel with as many as you can carry.Limitations on LithiumThere have been limitations for these batteries for some time; however, with the issue of exploding lithium batteries in phones over the last few years, the rules have become a little more strict. Knowing how to navigate these restrictions will make traveling with batteries much easier. The general rule of thumb is to try to stick to under 100Wh for all of your larger lithium batteries. When you stay under this number, you can carry on as many lithium batteries as you need to power your camera and accessories. From the TSALithium batteries with 100 watt hours or less may be carried in a device, in either carry-on or checked bags. Loose lithium batteries are prohibited in checked bags. However, if you wish to carry on batteries that are larger than 100Wh, you can. You’re just limited to two, and they can’t exceed 160Wh. Lithium batteries with more than 100 watt hours may be allowed in carry-on bags with airline approval, but are limited to two spare batteries per passenger. Loose lithium batteries are prohibited in checked bags. The OptionsFortunately, battery and power manufactures — for cinema applications — are very aware of these TSA restrictions. As a result, they design and develop power and battery solutions that specifically address these limitations. For example, Anton Bauer has the Titan series of batteries, specifically created for these applications. They neatly fit within the TSA’s regulation amounts for both 100Wh and 160Wh limitations. It is a strong brand and it does so much for the region itself and just to hear it from the other side of the region is quite commendable and it is a pure indication of what is being done in the Turks and Caicos, we are not alone and we have the opportunity also to speak to people around the region to see what works well in Beaches or Sandals…”Also in Barbados, the Tourism Investment agency President, Stuart Layne, who concurred with their Tourism Minister and agri-businesses that Sandals brings a diversity of opportunities; we asked him how having the Sandals and a coming Beaches helps Barbados specifically. “First of all we are happy that based on comments, from at least one carrier, that carrier has expanded its airlift just because Sandals is here so that is the sort of proof we are looking in terms of a justification for having Sandals here. We also know that Sandals has a fairly steady demand throughout the year so that also adds to the number of visitors on the island, it adds to stability in terms of employment.”First stop of the fam trip was Grenada, home of Sandals La Source and yesterday afternoon was spent touring two of three Sandals resorts in St Lucia. Manchester United legend Gary Neville has raised concerns over Paul Pogba’s long-term future at the club.Ever since returning to United in the summer of 2016 for a then-world record transfer of £95m from Juventus, Pogba has been a mere shadow of the player he once was in Italy. But, under caretaker coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Pogba appears to have begun consistently delivering the kind of performances that justify his price tag.The French midfielder has delivered nine goals and six assists in 12 appearances and has played a vital role in United’s climb back into the top four of the Premier League along with booking a quarter-final spot in the FA Cup.But Neville is worried that the influence of his agent, Mino Raiola, will have a poisonous effect on Pogba’s long-term future at Old Trafford.“To be bang honest on Pogba, for two years, for £95m he gave United nowhere near enough in terms of performance levels and contribution,” Neville told Sky Sports.Liverpool legend Nicol slams Harry Maguire’s Man United form Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Steve Nicol believes Harry Maguire has made some “horrendous mistakes” recently, and has failed to find his best form since joining Manchester United.“In the last two or three months, he’s playing like the player that, to be fair, was bought for £95m. And he’s an outstanding player when he is playing like he is doing at the moment.“If he plays for Manchester United for the next five years at the levels he’s playing now, there will be no one happier than us two [Neville and fellow pundit Nemanja Vidic] watching him out there because he’s absolutely outstanding.“But in the back of my mind, the problems that we witnessed in the first two years will emanate again at some point. Because I think his agent will be onto him, he’ll be wanting his little move away, he’ll be wanting his next pay-off and that’s my problem with it. His commitment to the club has got to be long-term.“At the moment I love the way he’s playing. He’s brilliant, he’s outstanding. He could tear Liverpool apart on his own today if he makes those runs into the box. But this is only three months of football out of two and a half years, nearly three seasons.“So let’s keep it in balance. If he’s playing like this in two years all of us will be saying wonderful, fantastic things.“My personal view is his agent will be onto him in the next transfer window or two or three and be saying to him ‘come on, we need to get over to there now. I need to get over to there.’ And that’s my worry with him. Can he be trusted for the long term at the club? We trust him at the moment. Can we trust him for the long term?”LONDON, ENGLAND – JANUARY 13: Paul Pogba of Manchester United celebrates victory after the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on January 13, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.
